Strengthening, Integration Of Digital Competencies And Improve Quality Standarts in Workplace-Based Vocational Education

The final mobility of the project titled “Strengthening, Integration of Digital Competencies and Improving Quality Standards in Workplace-Based Vocational Education”, coordinated by Akçakoca Vocational Education Center Directorate, was carried out in Türkiye. The third activity was held with the participation of project partners from Istituto Istruzione Superiore ‘E. Majorana – A. Cascino (Italy) and Previform – Laboratório, Formação, Higiene e Segurança do Trabalho, Lda (Portugal).

As part of the Erasmus+ KA210-VET project, Akçakoca Vocational Education Center successfully hosted a series of international training workshops in Türkiye between 26–30 May 2025, bringing together educators from Türkiye, Italy, and Portugal to strengthen digital competencies in workplace-based vocational education.

Throughout the program, participants took part in interactive and collaborative sessions designed to enhance their digital skills and teaching methodologies. The first day was dedicated to arrival and orientation. On the second day, workshops began with ice-breaking activities and an introduction to the project goals, followed by discussions on the needs for digital competencies in vocational education and the development of a specific digital competence framework.

The third day focused on practical aspects such as teaching strategies for digital literacy and online pedagogy, the integration of digital tools into vocational training, and the development of methods for assessing digital competencies. Participants also explored approaches to quality assurance in vocational education settings. On the final training day, educators analyzed real-life case studies and best practices, shared their own experiences, and worked in groups to design action plans for implementing digital competencies in their institutions. The program concluded with evaluation and feedback collection, while the final day was allocated for travel.

In addition to the training, participants had the opportunity to explore the historical, cultural, and natural richness of Akçakoca – Düzce and its surroundings. The coastal charm of the Black Sea, lush landscapes, traditional Turkish architecture, and local culinary experiences added a rich cultural dimension to the mobility, fostering a deeper intercultural understanding among participants.

This initiative provided significant benefits to teachers and trainers in the vocational education sector, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to modernize their teaching practices. Outcomes included stronger digital integration in vocational curricula, enhanced awareness of quality standards, and a more collaborative approach to educational innovation across borders.

By combining practical training, cultural exchange, and strategic planning, this workshop series marked a major step forward in achieving the project’s mission to enhance digital competencies and improve the quality of workplace-based vocational education across Europe.
